Well, I didn’t have the week I had planned, but I still did OK. No, I did really good. OK, in between good and really good. Remember that my plan was to have the week off to exercise and eat better, but we got an unexpected (but very welcome) guest, so I got a little derailed.
The good: I exercised Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. And I mean good exercise, where I really got my heart going. Saturday we walked miles in downtown D.C. (literally, miles, I mapped in on Google and it came to 3.9 miles). It was slow walking, definitely didn’t break a sweat, but walking 4 miles has to count for something! Sunday I did some super cleaning and was sweating so that has to count for something. So out of the seven days, I did hard exercise three days, light exercise two days and nothing the other two. Not bad, not bad at all!
The not-so-good: I ate OK, but a couple of times not good at all. I did a lot of cooking, so I was able to control the oils, fats, etc. Plus I made foods with lots of veggies, which I don’t get enough of. But, we had fried chicken one night and I didn’t make the best choices when we ate out.
All in all, I feel really good coming off Week One. That being said, I’m pretty nervous about keeping it up when I’m back to work in back to real life. My day started at 6 a.m., after less than five hours of sleep. Not sure how much I’ll be in to exercising when I get home from work. In fact, I’m ready for a nap right now.
